Redscale
by Michael Sturgess
I used my first roll of Redscale film shooting the musician Yakbone. He had wanted a gothic vibe for his shoot so we went to the garden of St Dunstan in the East.
The church was originally built in 1100, damaged in the Great Fire of London (1666) and severely damaged during the Biltz of 1941. In 1967 the City of London Corporation decided to turn the ruins into a public garden.
I love the way the plants have decorated the ruined walls and windows to give you a feeling of the outside creeping in.
After the shoot I made my way back home I couldn’t resist a snap of my favourite building in London.
I’ll post some photos of the Yakbone shoot at a later date.
