I took a weekend trip to Bergen last April after I’d spotted a cheap “flights and hotel” deal.
I had always wanted to sail around the Fjords and Bergen has a good variety of tours to choose from.
As soon as I arrived in Bergen I went to the tourist office and found out that the tours of the Fjords operated from May to September.
Also, from October to April, most of the main tourist attractions are closed at the weekend.
After checking in at the hotel, it was time for a drink. £11 for one beer. . . It’s safe to say I didn’t get a hangover in Bergen.

No Fjord tour, but I did go on a nice little boat trip first thing in the morning, among the Skerries (small cliffs and rocks along the coast), which was cold and windy.
After the boat trip there wasn’t much to do other than wander around the beautiful town and go up Fløyen Mountain for views of Bergen.
